NGATEA AGAIN SUCCESSFUL. FUNCTION TO BE ARRANGEDThe feat of the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co.’s Ngatea butter factory, and of its suppliers, in winning the Weddell Cup for a second time is to be fittingly celebrated next Week. when a function will be held in the Ngatea Hall to receive the trophy and to present to the district which did the most to help win it for the Ngatea factory the Davies "Superfine” Cup. Arrangements for the holding of a similar function to that held on the previous occasion were made at a meeting of representatives of suppliers’ committees at Ngatea on Friday afternoon, Mr J. T. Darlington presiding. As the company has agreed to vote a small sum to cover expenses, no charge will be made for admission, which -will be on presentation of an invitation. These will be sent out in the course of the next few days to all suppliers on the 1929 list, including those now supplying the Waitakaruru cheese factory. Messrs J. Darlington (convener), J. W. Neate (secretary), G. T. Davidson, J. Spence, A. R. Vowles, and E*. Muggeridge were appointed the controlling committee, with power to add to their number. It was decided y to guarantee buses from all parts of the supply area. Mr Neate was authorised to arrange the decorations and the musical and vocal items. The programme will commence with the concert, after which there will be speeches by the directors of the company amd its chief executive officers, leading up to the presentation of the Weddell Cup to Mr C. S. Foster, factoiry manager, who will reply. The Da’pies Cup will then be presented to thes convener of the suppliers’ committee, for the district which during the. past season supplied the greatest percentage of superfine cream.
