AUCKLAND COUNTRY WEEK. LOCAL TEAMS’ RESULTS. Monday afternoon saw the commencement of the Auckland Hockey Association’s annual country week tournament at Remuera, and Tuesday morning the continuation. Following are the result affecting from the district:—
White Horse Cup.—First round : Waipa Cup 8 (Finch 4, Spiers 4, v. Piako 1 (Fitt) ; Franklin 3 (Turner 2, Smith 1), v. Thames-Hauraki 0. Second round : Piako 2 (P. Harvey and Fitt), v. Rodney 2 (Grimmer and Jones) ; Whakatane 4 (Murray 2, Dawson and Alison), v. Thames-Hau-raki 1 (Menzies). Ladies’ Provincial Cup.—A Section 1 Franklin B 3 (Misses McGovern 2, Cathcart 1), v. Piako 80. B Section: Hauraki Plains 9 (Misses Courtney 5, Berney 4), v. Rodney B 1 (Miss Stewart). C. Section : Whangarei 4 (Misses Tibbet 2, Berriche 1, Cotter 1), v. Piako A 2 (Misses Whelan 1, Craig 1).
