HOCKEY.
REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS. PLAINS AND PAEROA. Following is the Paeroa ladies’ representative hockey team which will take part in the Country Week touri, ament at Auckland next week :— Miss P. Swift, Mrs Otter, Misses N. Finnic, E. P,eH, A. Morrison, A. O’Neil, P. Pivott, B. Hunter, V. Shand, and E, Hayward. The following team has been selected to represent the Hauraki Plains Ladies’ Hockey Association at the Country Week tournament, which will be held by the Auckland Association from July 8 to July 13 :— Goalkeeper : Miss R. Harris ; backs, Misses N. Peters, R. Smith, C. Hegh ; half backs, Misses H. Harwood, A. Peters, M. Nicholson, S. Clifford ; forwards, Misses Mavis Beaver, Madge Beaver, F. Berney, A. Candy, Myrtle Courtney, E. McPherson, E. Candy. This team will leave for Auckland on Sunday next. On Saturday the team will play the Thames team at Thames. THE MEN’S TEAM. The following will represent the Tham es ’Hauraki Association in the White Horse Cup tournament, to be held in Auckland from July 8 to July 13 :— R. Menzies (capt.), B. Miller (Plains), A. Renshaw, E. Alexander 'Plains), H. Candv (Plains), C. Laurence (Plains), E. Hale (Plains), A. McMillan (Plains), A. Campbell) (Plains), T. Field (Plains), L. Griffin, L. Candy (Plains), H. Phillips, Aberhart (Plains). C. Muller (Plains), S. Wilton.
The Thames Valley Power Board is cf the opinion that the board should strongly oppose any move to curtail its trading powers.
