THAMES VALLEY RUGBY UNION.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE.

A meeting of the executive committee of the Thames Valley Rugby Football Union was held on Saturday afternoon, when the president, Mr J. W. Silcock, presided.

A protest was received from the Kerepeehi Club against the playing of a disqualified man by the Waitakaruru Club in the match played on June 8. After considerable deliberation it was decided to award the game to the Kerepeehi Club. A protest from the Ngatea Club against the Turua Club for playing an unregistered player was not upheld because of the irregularities on both sides in not registering their players. A further protest from the Kerepeehi Club against the Ngatea Club in the junior match played on June 15 for playing a man they considered was a senior player, was not upheld. The evidence showed that while the player had played in a representative fixture last year he had not been picked either as one of the team or as an emergency. He was present at Waihi to witness the game and was pressed to take the field in order to make up the team. The evidence before the union was clear that the. player was not a senior player and had only played in the junior ranks. The Hauraki Plains Union forwarded a new set of rules, which were left in the hands of the chairman and secretary to revise. With reference to the Bay of Plenty fixture at Waihi on August 31, it was decided to grant the visitors 40 per cent, of the gross takings. It was decided to co-operate with the Bay of Plenty in endeavouring to secure a special train, and to arrange golf, hockey, and other matches.
