PERSONAL.

Mr A. W. Bongard, Mayor of Thames, was in Paeroa last evening.

Mr A. Wilson, manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Thames, has received notice of his transfer to Gisborne in a similar capacity. Mr Wilson was for many years manager of the local branch of the bank.

Mr G. Baildon, Mayor of Auckland, .Mr H. Mackenzie, late chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, and Mr H. Sutherland, of Onehunga, were in Paeroa yesterday evening and returned to Auckland this morning.

Mr R. S. Baker, manager of the Waihi branch of the Bank of New Zealand for the last four or five years, has received notice of his appointment to the position of manager of the Whakatane branch. Mr Baker will be succeeded by Mr E. H. Payze, at present manager at Huntly.
