M.U. ODDFELLOWS.
NEW DISTRICT OFFICE OPENED FINE AUCKLAND BUILDING. The Manchester Unity Building is at last completed, and the District Office is installed on the first floor, at the corner of Hobson and Victoria streets. The building is a handsome structure, and well worthy of the dignity of the society. Naturally, the home which was so long associated with the affairs of the society was not quitted without feelings of regret. In May of this year the District Office was removed from its old quarters in the Manchester Unity Hall, Cook Street, where the district held its meetings for the last 50 years. When the district first met in the Manchester Unity Hall, Cook Street, its lodges numbered 11 and its membership 1014. From these humble proportions the district has progressed materially. There are now 59 lodges in the district, with a membership exceeding 7000. It is earnestly to be hoped that the Auckland district in its new home may render equally good service to the Order.
