“The work done by the Society has contributed in no small measure to the present improved appearance of the town, and the past year’s record fully justifies the continued existence o.i’ the organisation. “As the work done was again carried out under the Borough Council’s relief of unemployment scheme (towards which a donation of £3O was made), there has not been the necessity for many committee meetings ; but the results obtained have been well worth while.

“New Work.—ln addition to the work which Dr. Little has offered to pay for, it is suggested that the Society might aim at planting during this planting season trees on the north side of Station Road for its entire length, and at the Puke Road and Rye Lane bridges. Such a work would make a fine contribution to the further beautifying of the town. “The best thanks of the Society are due to Mr W. C.
