PAEROA RIFLE CLUB.
AN IMPORTANT MEETING. MINIATURE CLUB FORMED. At an enthusiastic meeting of the Paeroa Defence Rifle Club held last night in the County Chambers, Mr E. Edwards, chairman, presiding, it was unanimously decided to form a miniature rifle club. Name and Rules. It was decided to be named the Paeroa Defence Miniature Rifle Club, and that rules as forwarded by the Wanganui Post and Telegraph Rifle Club be adopted. Subscription. Subscriptions were fixed at 5s per annum for senior members and 2s 6d per annum for senior cadets and members under 17. Rifles would be supplied free by the club, and ammunition at 6d for 11 shots. Shooting Night. The meeting decided to hold weekly shoots on Wednesday nights, unless otherwise notified, in the Drill Hall, which had been made available by the kindness of the local Defence authorities. Material. The secretary was empowered to procure ammunition up to 5000 rounds and 500 S.M.R.C. 25yds 5-bull standard targets. The question of procuring quotations for mattresses was also left in the hands of the secretary. Opening .Night. The opening night was fixed for Wednesday, June 5, shooting to commence at 7.30.
