ENJOYABLE DANCE.
FUNCTION IN SOLDIERS’ CLUB. FUNDS FOR UNEMPLOYED. A delightful and very jolly dance was held in the Soldiers’ Club on Monday evening for the purpose of collecting money for the unemployed. The hall was tastefully decorated with greenery, balloons, and coloured streamers. The committee responsible for carrying the dance through comprised Mesdames Young, Steedman, McMillan, Misses de Castro, Halligan, Surrey (2), Buchanan, Argali, and Messrs Hayward, Mills, Morrison, and Thorp. The music, which was voluntarily, was contributed by Messrs Rooney (piano) and Clow (violin), and an extra by Miss Halligan. The member for the district, Mr A. M. Samuel, and the Mayor of Paeroa, Mr W. Marshall, were present. Amongst those present were Mesdames A. M. Samuel, black georgette and lace; Marshall, black panne velvet with lily of the valley posy ; Young, midnight blue crepe de chine, lace hem ; Cassrels, green lame with pointed skirt; McMillan, floral beige georgette ; Cassidy, ivory beaded georgette ; Bassett, cyclamen taffeta and georgette ; Tyson, pastel blue and shell pink georgette ; Taiboys, au-de-chil georgette ; Innes, black georgette and lace ; Stewart, rose beaded georgette; Steedman, black taffeta with i oriental medallions ; Hedge,, shell pink satin. Misses Ena Jackson, hand-painted crepe de chine; Jean Robertson, vieux rose crepe de chine ; Raye de Castro, bauffant black tulle skirt, silver tissue body ; Adria Nicholas, cherry ring velvet and geogette, uneven hem ; Grace Surrey, black and white net, silver trimmings, uneven hem ; Jean Buchanan, georgette and lace frock over blue ; Joy Buchanan, black and gold net; A. Argali, cherry crepe de chine ; Hilda Williams, rose satin and silver lace ; A. Buchanan, black crepe de chine with green trimmings ; N. Surrey, shell pink georgette and silver ; L. Harmer, orange satin, coffee lace overdress ; E. Findlay, rose ray-de-chine, jade trimmings ; Edna Hayward, rose chenille bodice, georgette skirt; I. Halligan, primrose taffeta and gold lace ; T. McGruer, pink beaded georgette ; L. Vincent, mauve taffeta and gold trimmings ; E. Vincent, sea green lisse.tte, uneven hem ; A. Hill, blue lissette with hand paintings ;Helen Matthews,' oriental frock of gold lace and georgette ; Helma Steedman, rose shot taffeta, frilled skirt ; Flora McDonald, vieux rose frock ; C. Fleming, ivory satin, uneven hem ; J. Ellis, blue frilled net frock ; I. Beaver, blue crepe de chine and silver lace.
