PAEROA RUGBY UNION. WEEKLY MEETING. The regular meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union management committee was held on Monday night, Mr J. Crosby, chairman, presiding over the following : Messrs W. Neil, H. Robinson, J. W. Pratley, J. McDonald, J. Walmsley, and W. A. Fathers, (secretary). Registrations. H. Stonell was registered as a senior for Pirates and R. Riddell as a junior for East. In reply to a‘letter from A. McQuatters asking for. a transfer from East to Pirates, the committee resolved to adhere to its previous decision. The secretary was instructed to obtain from the club concerned a statement of Wynyard’s bona fide credentials. Balance-sheet. The balance-sheet for the 1928 season was received as audited by Mr R. W. Evans. Unqualified Player. Considerable discussion arose concerning the playing of A. O’Hara by Suburbs on Saturday last, but as no protest was entered by the opposing team (East) it was decided that the secretary should write to Suburbs asking for an explanation as to why this player turned out contrary to the rules. Third Grade. , A joint letter was received from the East and West third-grade teams suggesting that they combine to form a united team. it was decided to defer the matter until the next meeting. Referees’ Association. It was resolved that the secretary inquire into the arrears owing in affiliation fees to this association. Joint Conference. Messrs J. M. Crosby, J. Walmsley, and the secretary were deputed, with power, to meet delegates of the Thames Rugby Union on Thursday evening next for the purpose of amieably arranging the definite boundary between the two unions. The chairman’s action in regard to the matter was endorsed. Insurance. The proposed schemes as proposed by Mr Walmsley were appreciated, and it was decided to invite the club secretaries to attend the next ordinary meeting, ; when either scheme might be adopted. Gatekeepers. Messrs J. W. Pratley and J. Walmsley were appointed gatekeepers for Saturday next. Draw. The following draws were made for Saturday :— East v. West, No. 1 ground, 3.15 p.m.; Suburbs v. Pirates, No. 2 ground, 2.45 p.m. Juniors.—East v. West, No. 1 ground, 2 p.m. Third Grade.—Combined East and West v. Suburbs. Referees. The following referees were appointed for Saturday :— East v. West, Mr J. M. Crosby ; Suburbs v. Pirates, Mr L. E. Shaw, Juniors : East v. West, Mr T. W. Jonas. Third Grade : Mr C. Rolton.
