HOCKEY.
PAEROA LADIES’ CLUB. LAST SATURDAY’S PLAY. At the Paeroa Domain on Saturday two hockey matches were played. The Waratahs met and defeated Ramblers by 3 goals to 1, Miss Shand netting the goals for the winners and Miss M. Epps the one for Ramblers. Kowhais and True Blues also tried conclusions, the former being victorious by five goals to one. Miss B. Hunter shot three goals and Miss P. Pivott and Miss C. Swann one each for Kowhais, while Miss M. O’Neil netted the one for True Blues. MATCHES ON PLAINS The Hauraki Plains ladies’ hockey competition was continued on Saturday. Waitakaruru beat Kopuarahi B by 4 goals to 1, the scorers being the Misses Beaver (3) and Berney for Waitakaruru and Miss E. Candy for Kopuarahi. Ngatea High School beat the Kerepeehi B team by five goals to nil, Misses K. McKerchar (4) and M. Elliott being the scorers. The Kerepeehi A team beat Turua by eight goals to one. , . ; THE MEN’S MATCHES. The newly formed Turua men’s club played its first match on Saturday and lost to the Foundry team from Thames by five goals to four. The Kerepeehi club could not field a team against Kopuarahi.
