>REPORTS TO COUNCIL. STATEMENTS BY COMMITTEES. The following information was contained in reports on operation during the month submitted at the last nieeting of the Paeroa Borough Council ■ i Finance Committee’s Report. “During the past month the revenue in the District Fund Account amounted to £395 18s, and the expenditure to £1559 14s 7d, which includes £3OO transferred to the House Sewerage Connections Loan Account. The credit balance, together with advances made, is £1390 2s lOd. “The expenditure in the various loan accounts is as follows ; Water Improvements Loan Account, £B7 19s 6d ; Council Chambers Loan Account, £l5 12s sd. “The respective loan accounts now stand as follows : Water - Improvements, credit, £152 15s 5d ; Council Chambers, credit, £23 8s 9d ; Sewerage, credit, £36, ; 2s ; Street Improvements, credit, £27 9s Id ; House Sewerage Connections, credit, £320 9s 9d.” Works Committee’s Report. “Maintenance.—Ordinary maintenance has been carried on as usual during the past month, and cleaning of open stormwater drains has been completed. These are now in excellent order for dealing with winter rains. “Permanent fences have been erected on the southern approach to the Ohinemuri’ River bridge, and to the approaches to the Puke Road culvert. Where necessary painting has been done on the steel work of the! river bridge. “Water Main Reticulation. — The work in hand undei - loan authorisation is practically completed,, with the exception of about a day’s work in Nahum Street. “Sewer Extension. —Work is in hand in connection with the branch from Kennedy Street to Mrs Towers’, and when this is completed all raised loans will be expended. “Borough Chambers.—The shed authorised has been erected, and it will provp a real advantage. “Flood Pump.—Conditions have been unfavourable for a further test, and there is nothing to report.”
