PERSONAL.
The Minister of Mines, the Hon. W. A. Veitch, accompanied by Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P., visited Paeroa yesterday in the course of a tour through part of the Thames electorate. Mr Samuel, who is rapidly recovering from his recent operation and looking remarkably well under the circumstances, is proceeding to Wellington to-morrow evening on business of the electorate. Mrs V. Lowden has been appointed as child welfare officer for the district of Paeroa. Miss C. E. Douslin, who for many years has been postmistress at Kaihere, became postmistress at Kerepeehi on Wednesday last. Miss J. Wallace has been appointed to the Kaihere office.
