MOTOR COLLISION.
HORSE KILLED. RIDER’S MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. Whilse riding to his home on Te Aroha Road yesterday evening at about six o’clock Mr Angus McKinnon had a miraculous escape from being killed. It appears that his horse took fright and bolted, and when attempting to pass a car, driven by Mr M. Manning, of Te Arohd, struck another ear driven by Mr G. M. Lomer, watchmaker, Waihi, which was coming towards Paeroa. The impact was so great that the horse was killed instantly, while the rider was throwp some yards away. Although badly shaken, and considerably bruised, Mr McKinnon escaped without any broken bones. The car driven by Mr Lomer, and containing several passengers, was damaged. At the spot where the accident oc T curred the road is only 15ft 6in wide, and is about two miles from Paeroa.
