NEW COUNCIL.

NO ELECTION NECESSARY. NOMINATIONS FOR PAEROA. When the time fixed for receipt of nominations for the Borough Council closed to-day at noon, only the requisite number of names to form a council were submitted, so that no election will be necessary, and the following gentlemen automatically constitute the council for the ensuing term : Mayor, Mr W. Marshall. ■ Councillors, Messrs H. H. Bray, P. E. Brenan, E. Edwards,, F. E. Flatt, H. J. Hare, H. M. Shand, J. W. Silcock, and W. E. Ward. The same remarks apply to the various boards, the nominations being Thames Valley Electric Power Board, Mr F. E. Flatt. Thames Harbour Board, Mr E. Edwards. Thames Hospital Board, Mr P. E. Brenan.
