In securing Mr Marshall’s consent to stand for another term as Mayoi’ of Paeroa the burgesses and ratepayers of the town are to be congratulated. Mr Marshall’s good attributes are too well known to be further commented on here, but one cannot let the occasion pass without concurring with the praise tendered to His Worship by the deputation last Friday. Mr Marshall has stood by from the difficult times when he was first elected to the mayoralty, and with’the aid of his councillors brought Paeroa through to a state of borough efficiency and prosperity that might well be the envy of any city or town. To Mr Marshall gratitude is due, and is wholeheartedly given, for what he has accomplished in the past. For the future one can but wish him that the success attendant upon his previous terms of office will be present in the new, be it for one or two years.
