RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE PAEROA CLUB. SATURDAY’S COMPETITION On Saturday. members of the Pacroa Defence' Rifle Club met on the local range to fire the second shoot of the third and final series for the Club Championship and the Club handicap aggregate. Four more shoots will-complete the former' and two will complete the latter. Shooting was carried out from the 300 and 600 yards • ranges. . Rifleipan W. A. Reid put up the best performance at both ranges, thus heading the list for the day, with a score of 65 off the rifle out of a possible 70, which included a good shoot at’6oo yards of 34 out of a possible , 35. The limit for bottf ranges, including the handicap,, was 67. Following are the details :— Rfm. W. A. Reid, 31 at 300yds, 34 at 600yds (handicap 4) —total 67 (limit) ; Rfm. P. R. Hubbard, 29, 30 (5) —64 ; Capt. F. C. Hubbard, 28„ 30 (2) —60 ; Capt. H. Simmonds, 31, 29 (scr.)— 60 ; Rfm. R. Wells, 31, 24 (5) —60 ; Rfm. R. I. Roberts, 29, 25 (5) —59; Rfm. A. A. Jenkinson,-30, 23 (4)—57 ; Rfm. R. W. Roberts, 21, 26 (5)—52 ;G. Wells, 29, 18 (5)—52. In the Qlub Championship the three leading scorers are Capt. Simmonds, with 369 ; Capt. F, C. Hubbard, with 356 ; and Rfm.. R. I. Wells, with 327. In the handicap aggregate the leading three are Capt. F. C. Hubbard, with 491 ; Rfm. W; A. Reid, 487; and Rfm. A. A. Jenkinson, 481.
