SWIMMING.
CLOSE OF SEASON. RESULTS OF RACES. At the Public Swimming Baths on Saturday afternoon, which was the closing day for the baths, several races were held by the Paeroa Swimming Club to decide the points prizes for the season. The men’s 100yds resulted in D. Fraser (scr.), 1 ; P. Barclay (9sec.), 2; and M. Butler (11sec.), 3. Time, 90 4-ssec. Girls, under 14, 33 l-3yds : D. Simmonds (scr.), 1 ; J. Taiboys (4sec.), 2 ; N. Campbell, (3sec.), 3. Time, 26 l-ssec. Girls, under 17 : D. Simmonds (2sec.), 1 ; A. Barclay (scr), 2 ; N. Campbell (3sec.), 3. Time, 25 3-ssec. Boys, under 17, 33 l-3yds : J. Dickson (2sec.), 1 ; P. Barclay (scr.), 2 ; M. Butler (2sec.), 3. Time, 60 2-ssec. The points prize for senior members, a cup presented by Messrs Masters and Son, was won by D. Fraser ; junior members, J. Dickson ; girls, Miss D. Simmonds. Prizes for the latter two events will be given by the club.
The diving events were won by the following : Men, F. Hayward, 1 ,- D. Fraser, 2 ; Pringle, 3. Ladies, Miss Barclay, 1 ; Miss Simmonds, 2 ; and Miss England, 3. The Corfu dive was awarded to H. Verran.
