Very fine tennis was witnessed; at the Ngatea Club’s courts on Saturday, when the Hauarki Plains Tennis Association’s annual championship and handicap tournaments were In the early part, of the afternoon the weather was very hot, but later there was a strong, gusty wind. The results are as follows : — CHAMPIONSHIPS. Men's Singles.—Semi-finals : S- Coppins (Ngatea) beat H. Morgan (Ngatea), 6—l, 6—2. Final : W. E. Murphy (Hopai) beat. S. Coppins (Ngatea), 6—3, B—6. Men’s Doubles.—Final : Coppins and Coppins (Ngatea) beat Ludlow and Morgan (Ngatea), 6--0, 6—2. Ladies’ Singles.—Final : Mrs Speedy (Ile.pai) be, 'at Mrs Reed (Ngatea), 6-0, 6—3. HANDICAPS. Men’s Singles.—Semi-final: D. Pike (owe 12) beat A. Greensladfe (owe 12). 70—65 ; Dr. Miller (owe 25) beat E. Coppins (owe 23), 70 —51. Final: Dr. T. Miller (Turua) beat D. Pike (Pa,te-. tonga), 70 —49. Men’s Doubles. —Semi-final: C. Molloy and W. Williams (5) beat A. R. Vowlejs and H. Morgan (owe 11), 70—48. The final with L. Cotter and 11. Hayward (owe 2) will be played in three weeks’ time. Ladies’ singles.—Semi-iinal : Miss D. Hunter (owe 2) beat Miss B. Duff.'’ (owe2s), '50—32. Fina.l : Miss DHunter (Patetong,a) beat Miss I.
