RIFLE SHOOTING.
SATURDAY’S TROPHY SHOOT*
A. A. JENKINSON THE WINNER.
On Saturday members of. the Paeroa Rifle Club met on the local rifle range to shoot for the trophy presented by the club, and in continuation of the second round of the club compete tions. Shooting was carried out from the 500 and 600 yards ranges. The conditions for shooting from the former range were fair, but while changing to the 600 yards range a strong head wind sprang up, erratically blowing from left to right, which puzzled the riflemen.
The trophy was w'on by A- A. Jenkinson with a score of’ 61. ■ He also Registered a good shoot of 34 out of a possible 35 at 500 yard/s. F. C. Hubbard was second' with ;a score of 60, gaining this place from R- Wells, who 'had the same total bub who had! not done so well at the longer range.
