THE PAEROA CLUB.

.MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the committee of the Paeroa Swimming Club .was, held on Wednesday evening, when a balancesheet .of the carnival was presented, by the treasurer, Mr, S- Denize. It showed that after paying the accounts and pijzc-raoney there would be a credit balance of £l9 12s. It. was decided to forward, to the Borough council a cheque for £3 3s, bqing to per cent, of the gate money. RESIGNATION OF SECRETARY. Mr H. V. Cocks, the secretary, handed in his resignation owing to the pressure of work. |A resolution expressing the club’s appreciation of Mr Cock’s services was, passed and. regret expressed at his not being able to continue. Upon, nominations for the office be-i ing called Mr D. Fraser was unanimously elected. CARNIVAL PRIZES. It was resolved to engrave all prizes won at the first carnival out of the club’s, funds, and a com;mittee, consisting of the president and Messrs Meachem, Jenkinson, and! the secretary, was appointed to purchase the medals and trophies. DONATION. A medal of the value of £1 Is, for club competition, was received from Mr H. Spinks, for which a vote of thanks was passed. It was'cleicided to allocate the medal to a 50yds Toc.al championship event for boys. NEXT CARNIVAL. It was decided to hold the next carnival on March 21, when the 440yds South Auckland Championship .will be held. The date and programme has, since tiic meeting, been approved by the South Auckland Cqiitrc. THANKS. A heartj’ vote of thasks was passed to all who had' helped in connection with the recent e.arnival, particularly the ladies, Mesdtames Alps and Darbyshire, who supervised the hot refreshments provided fdr the competitors.
