LAST NIGHT’S ATTRACTION.

LADIES’ PAIRS COMPETITION.

The Paeroa bowling gi-een presented a pretty picture last night, on the occasion of a ladies’ pairs competition. The sight of bowls played under electric lights, is at all times fascinating, but with the prepence of gaily dressed ladies the sc,ene was one of added attractiveness.

The competition comprised five games, of 7 heads each, and 69 or 70 spectators witnessed the event and thoroughly enjoyed the well-contested games. Misses Finnie and ,o’Grady were the winners, being successful in all five games, and the fact that they were only half, a point ahead of the next pair illustrates how close the finishes were.
