N.Z. BORN ARTIST.
MIL J. A. BOND VISIIS PAEROA.
Mr J. A. Bond, a New artist of cosmopolitan travels and fame, is at present visiting Paeroa. He has been commissioned by several Australian art lovers to paint for, them scenes, of bqauty in New Zea.land. With this in view the artist is making a motor camping t6ur of the North Island. He is strong in his praise of Paeroa and) the borpiugh roads, particularly the splendid- yvidth of the latter.
One criticism Mr Bond vouchsafed, though, the absence of a camping ground! at Paeroa, which was surprising to him in a town of this size. He noticed in other placep, especially Hastings and' Wanganui, how excellent the camping facilities were, and how the travellers themselves brought money into the towns they stopped at.
Mr Bond has also been requested by a prominent Brisbane business man to secure for him seeds of. some New Zealand indigenous flora, especially puriri. In search of these he intends visiting Puru, and then On to the eoast to try the fishing.
