TIROHIA SCHOOL.
ANNUAL PICNIC. The annual picnic, of the Tirohia Public School was held ©jr Saturday last at the farm of Mr Kenney. This fixture has been held far thq last few years, but this year’s function was; by general consent classed as “the best yet.” There were about 200 present, pakeha and Maori vying with each other to make the event thoroughly enjoyable to everyone.
Mention should be; made erf the efforts of the Maori friends regarding the provisioning, thejr offering being a nig. potatoes, and kumeras cooked in the Maori style, and til’e "dainty morsel” was thoroughly appreciatedThe sports commStteo; did good, work in connection' with the programme of races, and generally kept thingy moving, with all tjie children satisfied! and some of-t.be adults more than satisfied. When “ cow-time” arrived everyone reluctantly departed for work, a little tired butt well contented.
