PAEROA CRICKET CLUB. THE CLUB COMPETITION. Paerpa will play at Morrinsville on Saturday next, to make up their match in the second) round whiphthey missed through one with Waihi. SATURDAY’S TEAM. The Pacroa team to visit Morri nsvillc on Saturday will travel by bus, leaving the post office at 12.45, and is as follows :— Howard, Wright, shand, Dare, Ball, Knight, Stack, Edwards, Taylor, Rollon, Dale. Emergencies: McQuillan, Meachem, Sanderson. The fixtures for the 16th and 23rd are at Waitoa and Mor.rinsville respectively. ■■ bowler shield. The Bowler shield, Which was won from Waitoa last season and held against Matamata, Gordon, anl Te Aroha, was lost this year to Waitoa. Mcrrinsville at present holds t'he shield, to whom Paeroa 'has issued a challenge for possession. The match will take place at Morrinsville on March 2.

In Saturday’s match against Te Aroha Howard again gave a splendid all-round display. His excellent score; of 59 he supported by taking six wickets .and doing some very useful fielding. His batting made pretty witching.

McQuillan, in whom the Te Areiha bowlers evidently considered they had an easy victim, gave them something to think about. He stone-walled in masterly fashion, only awaiting Chances to knock up fours. He did not get the fours, but succeeded in surprising his opponents. Knight’s 51 was a creditable performance, whilst Shand’s contribution of, 18 shewed a player, who ‘how to use his bat. Wright is a big assistance behind t'he stumps, and is probably the best man in the district ,in that, position. In the last match with Te Aroha at Te Arqha he performed the wonderful fijat -of taking 9 wickets fplr 9 runs. Knight must be heartily congratulated on batting extremely well all season, but has developed rather a tendency towards l.b.W. Stack is not playing up to his standard of last season. Taylor is batting well. Stricter, attention all round to training is necessary. PLAKO CLUB MATCHES. PAEROA AVERAGES.
