THAMES VALLEY UNION TO MEET.

FOUR-YEAR PROGRAMME WANTED.

Although it seems early to mention football matters, yet it has become necessary for the Thames Valley Rugby Football Union to call a meeting of delegates from the four sub- . unions to decide some important matters that will, for the next few years affect the union with reference to its annua} fixtures and representative games, with other unions. For some years the matter of arranging representative fixtures has been a difficult and unsatisfactory one, and in ordep? to draw up a comprehensive scheme to arrange for the unions to gp ; North and South in proper turn, and for A unions to undertake their quota of B union matches, some information is sought by the New Zealand Rugby Union.

The particulars askqd for are : The regular fixtures at present with other unions; approximately the programme of the union for t£e .next four seasons (i.c., what tours the union is prepared definitely to undertake in each year; in the case of B unions, from what A unions .would the union prefer visits in each of the four years,; and a list of local fixtures, such as races, etc,, during July, August, anti September in the district with which the union would not. wish to clash. >

The A unions, are Southlands Hawke’s Bay, South Canterbury, Canterbury, Wellington, Wairarapa, Otago, Manawhenua, Wanganui, Taranaki, and Auckland, and the B unions are the reminder of affiliated unions.
