goldfields stars match. PAEROA’ team VICTORIOUS. On Saturday a Paeroa team, challenging; for the Goldfields Stars, visited Te Aroha and made a successful effort to win the covered: trqphies. The successful team comprised Hale* Brocket, Chamberlain, and Mettam, and the Te Aroha team which held the Stars comprised Andrews, McWallace, Prescott, and Khristovic.h. The scores at the end of the game were 23 to 14 in favour qf the Paeroa team. BRENAN SHIELD GAMES. Two further gamejs in the Jirqnan Shield competition werte played oft Saturday, with the following results : Alexander, Pye, Ellis, Gibb 26, v. Vowles, Bassett, de Castro, Towers 11; Forrest, Cartqr,' Dqwry, Taylor 21, v. Hutchinson, Lo.wden, Holes, Surrey 15. FORREST BUTTONS. Another challenge for the Forrest Buttons was successfully withstood by the hqlders on Thursday evening last, the; result being as follows: Riddel, Knight, Ashcroft, Tresidder 28, v. Gibb, Hale, Follis, Pye 12. NIGHT PLAY. Three games were played on Thursday evening in thq night play competition, resulting as follows :—
