SATURDAY’S PLAY AT PAEROA. BRENAN SHIELD GAMES. Several games in connection with, the Brenan Shield competition were played ' an the loc,al bowling green on Saturday last, with the following results :— Forrest, Lowden, Silcock, Surrey 18, v. Carter, Masters, Hale 17 ; Barclay, Pye, Morland, Marsh 23, v. Hutchinson, Wheeler, Holes, T. L’. Williams 16; Vowles, Weadon, P. Williams, Brocket 17, v. Bomar, Dr. Smith, Dick, Towers 15.’ One match in the pairs competition was also played, Alexander and Mettam beating and Gibb, the sc,ores being 24—23.
