OBITUARY.
MR, JACK P. FITZGERALD.
On Saturday night at Karangahake a respected member, pjf the community in the person of Mr Jack PFitzgerald, passed away. The late M r Fitzgerald, a young man of 27 years, spent over ten years'’ in indifferent health. With the; exception of a short period of a few months he had spent the last six years of his illness confined to bed. During the time spent in Waihi and Auckland hospitals, and at his home in. Karangahake, the late; Mr Fitzgerald endeared himself to everyone with whom he came in contact. His indomitable spirit in fac.e of suffering and his cheerful optimism in spite of serious setbacks were; inspirations in themselves. Mi' Fitzgerald was, a member of the Loyal Karangahake Lodge, MLU. Oddfellows, and this lodge, together with Oddfellows all over the Auckland district, were instrumental in helping him in no small degree, , The funeral took place on Monday afternoon at the Paeroa Cemetery. P.G. Bro. J. Rackham read the Oddfellows service at the house, and the pall-bearers at Karangahake and Paeroa were representative of the Order in Bros. Massey, McNamara, Patten, and Griffen, of Loyal Karangahake Lodge : and Bros. Vukusich and S]ytiejld, of Loyal Jubilee Lodge, Paeroa. The Rev. Father Taylor officiated at the graveside.
