SPORTS AT OMOKOROA.

MOST ENJOYABLE DAY.

The combined picnic and sport of the Paeroa, Waihi, and Tauranga .railway employees, held yesterday at Omokoroa, provided a most enjoyable day’s outing feir all concerned). The location was well chosen and added not a little to the experienced. A natural sports ground for the athletic programme, a beach for swimmers and for the little ones to paddle, picturesque; walks, and secluded shaded nooks where to partake of picnic fare greeted 700 visitors. iTae committee in .charge; are to be congratulated on the way the whole of. the arrangements were carried out. Nothing was left unthought of, the handing out of s.weejts and fruit to the kiddies on the train’s return journey being a particularly deligjitf.nl iijea.

Young, and old greatly appreciated the sports, the results of which are givqn below. The bandsmen’s racfl caused a great deal- of amusement, as the participants had to sound their instruments while running.
