A lady recently complained that she lost on t ,le Christchurch trams a suitcase containing clothing valued at £46 (says the Times). She asked the Tramway Board to compensate her to that amount. Inquiries by the beard showed that she; had come to Chiistc’.iurch by the south express, and hail taken a Papanui tram from the railway station. She stated that slie gave the suitcase to the conductor, and that it could not be found when she got off at Rugby Street. The board's officers, makijng further inquiries, discovered the suitcase in the lost luggage office at ,the railway station. It had been left by the in a railway carriage.
