EH TIMI KILLED.
FALL IN RACE AT KAWAKAWA. RIDER SERIOUSLY INJURED. The annual meeting of. the Bay of Islands Racing Club, which opened at Kawakawa on Saturday, was marred by a fata] accident to a participating horse and serious injuries tf the rider. After the field in the Cup had c.overed about two Eh Timi, owned by Mr W. Sorensen, of PaerPu, fell, and in doing so brought down Alonsoa. Eh Timi sustained a broken back.
G. Spinks, of. Paeroa, wh® was riding Eh Timi, was seriously injured and unconscious when picked up. He regained consciousness yesterday for a few minutes, but soon relapsed into a state of c.oma ag;ain.
On inquiry this morning, Mr HSpinks, father of the injured jockey, stated that his son has recovered consciousness, and is progressing favourably at the Kawakawa Hospital.
