RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE PAEROA CLUB.
D. A. VINCENT TROPHY SHOOT.
On Saturday the members of the Paeroa Defence Rifle Club met to shoot for the trophy presented by Mr D. A. Vincent, and also .for the continuation of the Club competitions. The ranges fired from were 800yds and 900yds, this being the first shoot from these ranges. Shooting conditions were fair, but the heat caused a mirage which prevented any high scoring. The trophy was won by 1 Rfm. A. A. Jenkinson with a total of' 63, Captain H. Simmonds, being runner-up with 62. The scores .were as follows ;
Rfm. A. A. Jenkinson, 29, 29 (5) — 63; Captain H. Simmonds, 29, 33, (scr)—62 ; Rfm. R. Wells, 2p, 27 (4)r--60 ; Dep. President F. C- Hubbard, 21, 31 (2) —54 ; Rfm. R. I. Roberts, 30, 14 (6)—50; Rfm. A. Bridge, 19, 11 (6)—36 ; Rfm. W. A- Reid, 20 — (3) —23.
The three leading men in the Club championship are H. Simmonds 249, F. C. Hubbard 234, and A. A> Jenkinson 223. In the club handicap aggregate competition the leading three are H. Simmonds 249, F. C. Hubbard 242, and A A. Jenkinson 242.
