BOROUGH FINANCES.
THE MONTHLY STATEMENT. POSITION iOF ACCOUNTS. At last night’s' meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council the Finance Committee reported that during the month the revenue in the; district fund account amounted to £3740 15s Id, and the expenditure to £736 0s 9d, and that, after payment of certain accounts the credit would amount to £2034 12s Id. Concerning loan expenditure, the committee stated that during the month £197 3s was expended out -cf the sewerage loan account and £l4B 13s 6d ciut of the watqr improvements loan account. In this, connection -the sum of £5OO in the sewerage account and £7OO in the water improvements account, the raising of which was authorised by the couhc.il, lhad bepn- obtained locally by ths sale of debentures, the interest payable being at the satisfactory rate of. 5% per cent. The respective positions of the various loan accounts wefe given as follows : Sewerage, £3QO 19!s 'sd (c.redit); water improvements, £542 16s 6d (credit) ; swimming baths, £6 17s 3d (credit) ; 1920 street, improvements, £2B 4s Id (crejdit) ; council chambers, £39 5s 9d (credit) ; house sewerage connections, £4BB 19s 5d (debit).
