BAD FOOTPATHS.
EARLY IMPROVEMENT EXPECTED.
EXPLANATION OF DELAY. Wonder has been expressed for some considerable time as to the reason why the Paeroa footpaths have not been put in order, especially in the main street, but the Mayor let ithe secret out last night at the Borough Counc.il meeting. ’
The subject was broached by Cr. Edwards, and the Mayor explained that the reason for the present position was because; the Post and Telegraph Department- proposed to lay cables under the footpaths for the telegraph and telephone services. It was expected that the work would be undertakn at an early As soon as this work was completed! and the Public Works Department had repaired the damage that would be caused, the work of putting the pathg down in permanent material would we gone 6n with.
