PIG-MARKETING A.SSOt’I AT lON.
.MONTHLY REPORT.
Tlie N.Z. Co-operative Pig-Market-ing Association, Hamilton, has. issued the following monthly report:— ■During the last month large supplies of pigs have come to hand, the total number of pigs handled for the mon ; th of December being 5330" as compared with 4690 during the s a me month of last year. The total pigs handled to date this last season is 13,960, as compared with 5198 for th 3 same period last year. It will therefore be noted that there has been a very steady increase in the supplies of pigs offered.
“Markets.—Markets for both porkers and baconers are at the moment steady at a price a little better than scales price, and: large quantities of pigs have been disposed, of outside New Zealand. This should tend to steady the local market very considerably during this time of the year, when pigs are offering in large quan-> tities.
Porker Pools.—We must apologise to suppliers for our failure to complete the last season’s porker pools before this, but returns from London have hampered our doing so. However, we anticipate being able to clear up these pools before the end of January.
