VERY SEVERE WEATHER.
AN EXMOOR VILLAGE ISOLATED.

Severe frosts throughout Britain have been followed by a gradual thaw. The residents of Exmoor hdve experienced in thq last fortnight the most severe weather known for some years.
Gales followed the heavy snow and drifts were formed, in some places to a depth of 15ft. The moorjand. village of Simonsbath, 20 miles north of Tiverton, was cut off from the' outside world for five days, but a path has. now be.en made from Dulverton, 10 miles away.
The frost had been so hard that saws were used to cut- a space before spades could be employed.
