VETERINARY CLUB.
HAURAKI PLAINS BODY. ■MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The executive of the Hauraki Plains Farmers’ Veterinary Club met at Ngatea last evening, Mr C. W. Schultz presiding over Messrs G. Phillips, W. H. McCarthy, R. Burke, W. McCraith, and C. A. Gibson (secretary). GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY. The suggestion that an application be made to the; Government for. a subsidy’ towards the management of the club w r as made by Mr McCraith and adopted. It was pointed o.ut that if a., subsidy was received the; club would be able to employ an assistant for Mr Costello and be able to extend its sphere. I.t was decidejl to write to Messrs A. M. Samuel and A. W. Hall, M’s.P., on the subject. SURGEON’S REPORT The surgeon, Mr J. Costello, reported having attended' 40 members, making 93 visits, during the month of December. FINANCE. Accounts totalling £lO 8s 10<i were passed for payment. The secretary reported that the outstanding accounts, of £5 and over totalled £l7O and' the; smaller, accounts amounted to about £lOO. NOTICES OF MOTION. The chairman mentioned that as the annual meeting would be held in April it was necessary to s.end in no.tfcqs of motion to amend the constitution during the next month. Mr McCarthy mentioned a proposal to increase the subscription and allow a substantial rebate for prompt payment.
The question of charges to a farmer who o.wned two or more herds was also mentioned as a probable notice of motion.
