In reply to a request made to the Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public, Works, regarding the problems of some of the settlers and of the Waihou and Ohinemuri Rivers Improvement Scheme generally, Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P., has received the, fol-t lowing, letter “In connection with the interview you had with me this afternoon and our discussion regarding the Walhou and iQhinemuri Rivers Improvement Scheme; generally, 1 shall be pleased, so soon as a suitable opportunity occurs, to visit the Paeroa district In company with yourself for the purpose of obtaining more first-hand knowledge of the position. I shall arrange to gjve you as much notice as I can of the dates during which It will be possible for me to bq in that district. You will realise, of course, that just at present it is really Impossible for me to give you anything definite, but I shall let you know as soon as I possibly'qan.”
