PAEROA HIGH SCHOOL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting, Ojf the Paeroa Distirct High School Committee was held- on Saturday night, there being present Messrs J. McDonald (chairman), C. T. Mettam, W. Smith, W. Power, W. Chamber,lain, and G. E. Allen (secretary). DENTAL CLINIC. The chairman stated that an appeal for support towards the upkeep of the dental clinic was being made, and he jhqped parents would subscribe liberally. A letter was received from the Hikutaia School Committee enclosing £3 Ils 6d as its share towards the dental c,Unic. HORSE TROUGH. The chairman reported that the horse trough required replacing, and Messrs Smith and Power were appointed a sub-,committee with pqwer to deal with the matter at an early . date. EXHIBIT OF SCHOOL WORK. Aq invitation was received' from Miss O’Grady for the committee and parents to view the work of the infants. The children will also render, a programme, and there will also be “bring and buy” stalls. The imqimy obtained will be devoted to purchase of prizes. PLAYGROUND. It was decided to apply for a £ for £ subsidy, as promised, from the Education Board for the purpose qf tarring the school grounds during the vacation. A resolution was passed authorising , the chairman and secretary to withdraw the balance in the post qffice account to the credit of the school, grounds improvement fund, ine money to be forwarded to the board. The amount was approximately £29, and this with the subsidy would make £5B. . . ... The chairman and Mr Chamberlain were appointed a sub-committee, with power; to act, in connection with the tar-sealing qf the grounds. GREETINGS. On the motiqn of Messrs Power and Mettam it was decided to forward a letter' to the headmaster and staff congratulating them on their good wqrk and voicing appreciation of. the fine relations that had been manifested with the committee during the past year. The chairman closed the meeting by wishing his co-workers the compliments of the season and thapking, them for their loyal support during the year. ACCOUNTS. Accounts totalling £7 0s 8d were passed for payment, and the chairman and secretary were authorised to pay any accounts that might be necessary until the next meeting, in February.
