PAEROA HIGH SCHOOL.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting df thq Paeroa Distiret High School Committee was held on Saturday evening, the chairman (Mr J- C. H. McDonald) presiding over Messrs W. T. Power, C. Mete tarn. W. Alexander, W. Smith, G. H. Taylor (headmaster), and G. E. Allen (secretary). The chairman reported that the sub-committee had arranged for the necessary repairs to one of the fences. The meeting approved the action. TRANSFER OF TEACHER. The Education Board advised that Miss E. E. Freeman was to be turns-, ferred to Ngongataha. The committee expressed its regret at her departure, and it was decided to, place on record its appreciation of her past services as a teacher and also for her activi-i ties in connection with the school basketball association. LIBRARY SUBSIDIES. v Thq Education Board wrote stating that the sum of £ll ss, being amqunt of the contributions, the department's subsidy, and the board’s grant for the purchase of library books, would be paid to, the committees credit in a few days. EDUCATION BOARD RESERVE. Mr F. Gi. Otter wrote asking if the position of caretaker of t'he Education Board’s manual training school reserve was vacant, and if sq, he wished to make application for, same. It was pointed out that: the committee had no control over the reserve, and the secretary was instructed to advise Mr Otter to makq direct application tq th© board;

DENTAL CLINIC. , It was reported that ,t ! he dienta.l clinic funds were running low, and considerable; discussion ensued as to the best means of improving the finances.

A sub-committee, consisting of Mr Mettam and the headmaster, was ap-l pointejd to go fully into' the matter and repqrt to the next meeting.

ACCOUNTS. Accounts totalling £l4 18s Id were passed for payment.
