PNEUMONIC INFLUENZA.

VIRULENT AUSTRALIAN EPIDEMIC. THIRTEEN DEATHS REPORTED. SYDNEY, November 22. An epidemic of a virulent form of pneumonic influenza in the Leeton irrigation area, New South Wales, is causing grave concern. The Government has been asked to send medical and nursing assistance to the district.

In response tc> this appeal the Minister. of Health, Mr R. Arthur, has sent nurses to the locality, which is on the border of New South Wales and Victoria. Additional nurses have volunteered from Melbourne, where there is also a bad 1 epidemic of influenza.

Four deaths have occurred among, the employees of one shop. There have been nine deaths at Leeton, but none in the last few days.
