THE PAEROA CLUB. OFFICIAL OPENING. The official opening of the local ; Croquet Club was .held on Wednesday afternoon last, when -Mrs Barclay, the president, in the presence; olf a lax ge number of local enthusiasts and visitor.; from neighbouring clubs, declared the lawns open. - In. her address she said she hoped that they .would have a successful and happy season. . A progressive game’"was played, Mrs Henry, of Waihi, winning the A section, Mrs A‘very, of Hikutaia, the B and Mrs E. Edwards, of Paeroa, the prize for njon-Playing members. ' :
A delicious afternoon tea was partaken of, aftex* which Mrs G. H. Taylor, secretary of the -club, was made the rec.ipiejnt of a handsome set of champagne glasses.
