MR SAMUEL’S CAMPAIGN.

REFORM CANDIDATE IN DISTRICT. MEETINGS EXPRESS CONFIDENCE. Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P.. who, is the candidate in the Reform interests fqr the Thames seat, opened his, campaign at Hikutaia on Monday night before a, large attendance’ of electors. He was listened to with keefn inlter.est, and at the close of ihis address,, when the, request fqr questions wajs made, a voice, after a short period of silence, called out: “We don’t want to ask Mr Samuel any questions; we are quite satisfied with his work.” On the motion of Mr. V. Young, seconded by Mr W. Alley, a vote of thanks, and confidence in him as their representative in Parliamen|t, was pa.ssed by tlhq meeting to Mr Samuel. TIROHIA. On Tuesday Mr Samuel visited TiPohia, and a large anil representative gathering listened with interest to his address. At the close of the meeting a special resolution of thanks; to the member for his past services, and confidence in him as their future representative, was carried with enthusiasm. MATATOKI. Mr Samuel received a moist enthusiastic reception from a recqrd meeting at Matatoki on Wednesday night. During his address the speaker was, frequently applauded, and at itlie Close; of the meeting a unanimous vote of thanks pud confidence was carried. NETHERTON. At Netheyton last night Mr A. M. Samuel, was greeted witii goo,d attendance, including a number of ladies who were keen enough to. brave the elements. The chair was taken by Mr J. A. Reid. At the conclusion of his address a hearty vote of tha.njis was passed to Mr Samuel for his services tc; the district, and .also a vote of thanks and confidence as member. The proposition, was moved by Mr A. J. Youiig and seconded by Mr T. Vowles, and carried; most enthusiastically with three hearty cheers for the; candidate..

A strong committee was'formed to further Mr Samuels’ candidature.
