Building permits to the value of £1224 were granted at last, night’s meeing of the Paeroa Borough Council. Tlie value of permit's granted! for the half-year ended on September' 30 amounted to £6861. In reply to the Paeroa Borough Council’s congratulation's on his flight across the .Tasman Sea, and: to its ini viatiqn to visit Paeroa, SquadronCommander Kingsford Smith wrote; thanking the c.ouneil for it's congratulations anid stating he regretted that owing to, pressure ‘of time a to Paeroa equid not be made. At last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council it was decided' borrow a sum of £5OO tq pay for. -the septic tank improvqmenit i and a s.mall sewerage extension, and £7OO forwater, extensions and renewal's of water-mains which were rustled through.
