-e TUESDAY NIGHT’S MEETING. OPENING DAY TO-MORROW. A meeting of the Paerop, Defence Rifle Club was hedd- op Tuesday evening, t,he following being present-: Mr F. C. Hubbard (deputy-president), Captain H. Siminouds, riflemen; W. AReid. R. Wells, J. Simpson, apd A. A. Jenkinson (secretary). The following vice-presidents, acknowledged their election and forwarded contributions,: Dr. W. Little, £2 2s; Lieut. C. Bassett, £1 Is,; Mr PWilliam's,' £1 Is. SHOOTING AT WAIHI. An invitation was received from the Waihi Rifle; Club for a team to vi it that 'Labour Day. The iuvi&Wn, was’ accepted, and it was decided to send! a team of six men. , A CHALLENGE'CUP. Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P., wrote thanking the club for re-electifi(g him. patron an|d asking that a challenge cup be accepted.frqm him for competition. The trophy was accepted, and it .was decided to thank Mr Samuel fqr. the interest ? he had taken in the club. OPENING. DAY. It was decided to open the seaspn to-morrow (October 13), and to ar j range a novice competition shoot at 20Oyd’s for the public, and also a sweepstake competition at the .same range for members of. the club kind visiting riflemen.• Ammunition, rifle's, and also afternoon tea, wquld be preprovided on the range. It was decided to invite the public to be presept. ' Thd matter of procuring a trophy for the novice shoot was left in; the hand<i o/ -Messrs F. C. Hubbard and A. A. Jenkinson. . i FIRST. CLUB SHOOT. It was decided tq hold the first c,lub shoot on. ■ Saturday, October 20. . . SUBSCRIPTIONS. ‘ , In otrdef to encourage the. sepior cadet’s to-jojn the club it was decided to make the membership sub'scriptiqn 5s for the season. TARGETS. The new shutter targets have been erected, and will be used tp-morrow.
