PUBLIC BATTERY.
PROVISION IN ESTIMATES. FAVOURABLE INDICATION. On Saturday the Mayor of Paeroa, Mr W. Mar (hall, received a telegram fiom Mr A. M. Saiinuel. M.P., in coin n,action with the public crushing ba--tcry, stating that certain provision was, being made o,n the Estimates and that .negotiation's woiuld commence when the necessary authority had bce|n obtained. Interviewed this morning op the matter the Mayor said thiqt although he lipd no other information than t hat contained in t,lie telegram, he regarded the news as, being a favourable indication that something was; being done. The matjter wa,s of great importance to, this district, and he would await the receipt further word with much interest.
