DISTRICT NEWS.

KEREPEEHI. LODGE CONCERT. A very pleasing entertainment, organised by the Loyal Kerepeehi Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., was presented to a very large audience in the Kerepeehi Hall on Wednesday evening. Mr C. Stembridge, P.G. of the Kerepeehi Lodge, presided. Vocalists from Thames and Netherton, as well as Kerepeehi, presented a varied programme, which was so well received that the number of encores extended the concert to a late hour. The programme opened with a pianoforte solo by Mrs Scudamore, of Netherton. Messrs Johnston and Briggs, of Thames, rendered two excellent duets. Mr W. Morrison, of Netherton, contributed a song, which was followed by a whistling solo by Mr L. White, of Thames. A humorous recitation by Mr S. Ensor, of Thames, was followed by a song by Miss M. Briggs, of Thames, who was deservedly encored. Mr H. Booth of Kerepeehi, was recalled for a second song. Little Miss Lorna McDuff, of Ngatea, followed with a step dance, the piper being Mr J. Rankin, of Thames. Mr A. J. Briggs, of Thames, was heard to advantage in two pleasing songs, and Mr H. Beeche, of Thames, had to contribute three humorous songs. After a short interval songs were contributed by Miss Matthews, of Netherton ; Miss E. Briggs, of Thames; and Messrs McElvride, W. J. Johnstone, J. Hardman, and H. Beeche, of Thames, and Mr R. Morrison, of Netherton. Miss M. McDuff, of Ngatea, gave a sword dance, and an excellent number ■ was given by Mrs. Miss, and Mr . Renata, of Kerepeehi. All the . vocalists were recalled. Mrs Scudamore, of Netherton, acted as accompaniste. After supper had been served a < dance was held, the music being < supplied by Mr A. E. Ludlow and c Mr A. J. Bnggs. c The whole entertainment was very much appreciated, and future concerts organised the lodge should be well patronised. <
