FIGURES FOR PAEBOA,. REGISTRATIONS FOR AUGUST. The rainfall for Paeroa for the month of August, a? registered at the. Iqcal office of the Public Works Dep.antiiient, totals 3.56 i inches. The figures for the same month iq 1927 were 4.36 inches, .80 of an inch more than this year. Rain fell on twentyoife days last month, the heaviest fall being ojn the 27th, when 1.55 inches were recorded. Sq- far this year the rainfall totals 44.43 inches, which is. 9.53 inches, ■more' -than for the corresponding months of ,1927. HAURAKI PLAINS FIGURES. LIGHT FALL DURING AUGUST. Although there were seventeen days last month on which some rain was recorded by the gauge at the office of the Lands Drajqage Department, Kerepeebi, the total amount was considerably below the August average for the la,st rteventeen years, being only 2.9 inches. In the years 1926 and 1927 the August totals were *6.38 and 4.76 inches respectively, and the Average for the. month i& 3.487 inchesThe heaviest fall last month was for the 24 'hours, ended at 8 a.m. on the 27th. when .81 of an i)(ch was recorded. On fourteen of the la.st twenty days of the mojnth rain was recorded. The total for the year to date is 27.89 inches, and rain- has fallen qn 86 of the 243 days.
