FANCY DRESS BALLS.

GIRL GUIDES EFFORT. THURSDAY NIGHT’S FUNCTION. A fancy dress bqll, conducted by the Girl Guides, was held in the Central Theatre on Thursday last, and proved a most enjoyable function. For. theoccasion the theatre was brightly decorated, and this, with the great array of fancy cnstumse, made quite a picturcjjQUe scen,e. Mr Edwin Edwards presented the prizes to the winners and returned thanks: on behalf of the committee for the support given. The music was supplied by the Hauraki Orchestra, while W. Penjnell, J. During the evening minuet and ballet dances were given by the pupils of Mrs; Doidge, Thames. A skipping dance wao given by Miss, Veia, Crossley, an/1 “La C'iga.le” dance by Mi s Marie Dovell, alqo pupils o,f Mrs Doidge. A recitation was given by Miso C. White', o/ Thames, and an exhibitiou of swor.d-danciiig by' little Miss Lqrna McDuff, of Ngatea. Mrs A. Walker was the pianist, and the music for the dance, was by Mr-' Mules’ Turua Orchestra..
